Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Location: South Kirkby
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE)
Full-Time | Permanent/Contract

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team based in South Kirkby. In this key role, you will lead the design and development of complex electrical systems across a range of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering to client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the electrical design process from concept through to detailed design and delivery.

Produce and review electrical schematics, SLDs, BCDs, cable schedules, P&IDs, I/O schedules, layouts, calculations, and technical documentation.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, software, and project engineers.

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.

Ensure all designs meet relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., BS7671, IEC).

Engage directly with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver innovative, practical solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical design, preferably within building services or manufacturing environments.

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar CAD software.

Proven experience in LV power and distribution system design.

In-depth understanding of electrical systems, control panels, and power distribution.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards it) is highly desirable.
