Reed Education Maidstone is a leading agency within the field and are looking for experienced and skilled Primary Teachers to come and join our supply team, supporting in some of the leading schools in Maidstone, Medway and the surrounding areas.
What do I need to be successful in this post?
In order to be successful in the role of Supply Teacher, you will need to have experience within the classroom or an information educational environment. You will be placed in potentially up to five different schools per week, so being intuitive and happy to get stick in with new learning systems, different behaviours management policies and school environments.
As a Supply Teacher, all of the work will be planned for you, and there is no marking to be done at the end of the day. You will be required to feed back on the lesson to the usual class teacher using a range of different systems, from Class Charts to a simple email for them to pick up on their return. There is no expectation for you to be an expert on all subjects covered within the National Curriculum, but if you have a preference for a particular subject then we can support you in finding work that suits your abilities, but most of the work will be general cover where you will be supporting the class over a range of subjects and topics over a single day.
If you have had experience working in a school (primary, secondary or SEN) then this would be a good role for you.
What type of schools will I be working with?
Reed work with some of the leading trusts and schools across the whole of Berkshire, covering specialties like Primary Education, Secondary Education, and SEN and Special Schools with one consultant working over each area. You can register with us under one specialty, but if you have experience or are suitable for another specialty, you could also ask to be placed in other schools to support your own learning and experience.
Who would this post be suitable for?
This post would suit someone who is looking for a flexible and exciting role, where they are able to fit in their home lives around the career they love. You are able to work as little or as much as you like, anywhere up to five days per week. If you are in a position where you require your availability to work to be adjusted each week, then this role would be perfect for you. Just let your consultant know when you are free to take bookings and they will make note!
This role would also suit someone who has had experience working in an educational setting overseas and are looking to see what the UK system is like and to build on their experience here. By working with Reed you are able to work in multiple schools and to find out what you like and look for in a school. You will be able to see the learning styles, the students and general in school behaviours, as well as the positives of each school setting.
