About the Role:
You'll support the private client team in delivering high-quality, empathetic service to vulnerable individuals and their families. The focus will be on Court of Protection (COP) matters, including assisting with the day-to-day management of client affairs, deputyship applications, and liaising with a range of professionals and family members.
This is a varied and rewarding role with significant client contact and opportunities for professional development. You will play an integral role in helping ensure smooth and compliant case handling - with a strong emphasis on accurate time recording and administrative efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting solicitors with Court of Protection and deputyship matters
- Drafting letters, legal documents, and client correspondence
- Preparing and filing forms/applications to the Office of the Public Guardian or the Court
- Liaising with clients, carers, medical professionals, and other third parties
- Managing diaries, appointments, and deadlines
- Ensuring accurate and timely time recording for all activities
- Assisting with financial administration, including reviewing statements and processing invoices
- Maintaining accurate case files and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and external regulations
About You:
- Previous experience in a legal support or legal admin role (private client or similar)
- Experience or interest in Court of Protection, deputyships, or vulnerable client work
- Confident in accurate time recording as part of daily processes
- Empathetic, professional, and able to communicate sensitively with clients
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- IT literate and familiar with case management systems (training can be provided)
- A team player with a positive, proactive attitude
