Rise10 Recruitment are partnering with a market-leading manufacturer of specialist equipment supplied to a range of industry sectors, including heavy engineering, who are currently recruiting for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their established team in Leicestershire. This is a key hire, offering you a unique chance to showcase your skills and contribute to the production of high-quality, technically interesting products.
You’ll be working with mild and stainless steel, primarily producing cylindrical equipment using MIG welding processes, including Fronius welding plants. While you will be part of a small team of welders, much of the work will be carried out independently, allowing you to take full ownership of your tasks. This role offers the chance to engage in varied and technically interesting work, covering the full fabrication process from raw materials to finished products.
Key Responsibilities
- Marking out materials: Accurately measure and mark materials for cutting and fabrication.
- Metal preparation: Prepare metals for welding and fabrication, ensuring a high-quality finish.
- Cutting and bending: Use tools and machinery to cut and bend metals to required specifications.
- Assembly of components: Assemble metal components into final products, ensuring precision and quality.
- MIG welding: Perform high-standard MIG welding on various metal thicknesses.
- Fabrication of metal structures from engineering drawings: Follow detailed engineering drawings to fabricate metal structures, including pipework and plate fabrication.
About You
- 5+ years’ experience in welding and fabrication
- Proven MIG welding experience to a high standard
- Experience using Fronius welding equipment
- Ability to work from engineering drawings
- Experience fabricating a range of material thicknesses
- Fabrication skills including cutting, rolling, and bending
- Desirable skills include TIG and MMA welding experience, operating overhead cranes, an FLT licence, and experience working with acoustic products.
