Job Title: Test Engineer (Automation) - SC Cleared or Eligible
Contract Rate: £340 /day (Inside IR35)

Location: Hybrid - Leeds Hub / Remote (UK-Based)
Clearance: SC Cleared or Eligible (must have lived in the UK for 5+ years)

Overview:
We're working with a high-profile client in the public sector who is looking for 4 experienced Test Engineers with a strong background in automation testing, particularly using Selenium, Java/Maven, Cypress, or Playwright. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major digital transformation programme in a complex, fast-paced Agile environment.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement automated test scripts using tools like Selenium (Java), Cypress, or Playwright.

*

Perform API testing using tools like Postman or automated with Java Rest Assured.

*

Execute automated test suites, log defects, and work closely with developers for resolution.

*

Maintain and improve test reliability, CI/CD integration, and framework enhancements.

*

Engage with cross-functional teams and participate in agile ceremonies.

Key Skills:

*

Selenium, Java, Maven (Automation testing)

*

API testing - manual (Postman/Insomnia) and automated (Java/Rest Assured)

*

Cypress, Playwright (JavaScript frameworks)

*

BDD/TDD (Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG)

*

CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab

*

Docker knowledge

*

Accessibility testing (WCAG standards)

Nice to Have:

JMeter (Performance Testing)

Accessibility testing using axe/wave/ARC

Experience in government/public sector projects

Additional Info:

Must be eligible for SC Clearance - residency in the UK for at least 5 years.
