Role overview

Our clients require a Designer to join the Engineering department to help the company complete the many projects and department activities that are in a constant and increasing demand. This is a key position that will help ensure that the company continues to lead by innovation as it continues its strong growth.

A flexible approach and desire to work within a strong team culture that drives continual improvement will be a key requirement of this role.

Responsibilities

• Utilise Solidworks CAD system.
• Generate and work to approved design specifications.
• Produce conceptual designs and costing data.
• Produce prototypes.
• Liaise with external suppliers for out-of-house engineering.
• Produce tooling files, procurement spec drawings, and obtain quotations from suppliers.
• Manage testing regimes – electrical and mechanical.
• Develop and test assembly/construction methods.
• Modify existing product designs to meet customer requirements.
• Analyse competitor products.

Requirements

• Competent using SolidWorks CAD software for 3D modelling and surfacing.
• HNC/HND/Degree qualification in engineering or product design.
• Proven track record for managing your own projects.
• Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and materials.
• Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
• Conscientious, thorough and observant with an eye for detail.
• Responsible with a results-driven approach.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Team player.
• Flexible approach.
