Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism? On behalf of our client in Penicuik, we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Project Worker to join a small, dedicated residential team.

Working on a rota basis, including weekends, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to provide person-centred support to young people in a nurturing and structured environment.

About the Service:

The residential service supports up to 3 young people in a home-from-home setting. Staff work closely with the young people and their families to help achieve meaningful, individualised outcomes based on carefully developed support plans.

The Role:

As a Project Worker, you will play an active role in day-to-day support, building trusted relationships and helping to create a consistent, structured environment. You will contribute to developing life skills, promoting independence, and responding with empathy and professionalism to behaviours that may challenge.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering consistent, structured support in line with individual care plans

Maintaining clear and effective communication with young people, their families, and the wider care team

*

Responding calmly and appropriately to behaviours that challenge, including physical behaviours

*

Building trusting, professional relationships grounded in empathy, understanding, and respect

About You:

*

Previous experience working with children or young people in a similar care or support setting is desirable

*

Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism would be a strong advantage

*

You are dependable, calm, and thrive in a structured, team-oriented environment

*

You bring a commitment to providing compassionate, person-centred care and support
