Location: North West England, Greater Manchester, Stockport

Job Duties:

Maintaining the condition of buildings, facilities and equipment; performing scheduled maintenance, responding to emergency maintenance requests, and ensuring all services, repairs and installations are performed in accordance with safety standards.
Inspecting buildings to identify repairs or renovations that are needed, estimating the costs and time to complete these repairs, and maintaining records.
Managing, training, and scheduling facility maintenance staff; providing feedback for performance evaluations.
Ensuring all work is carried out according to the company's policies and procedures; adhering to Building Regulatory Authorities and local building codes.
Installing and repairing air conditioning and HVAC systems, electrical wiring, plumbing, refrigeration, water treatment systems and other components of facility systems.
Implementing integrated pest management solutions to keep buildings free of pests and rodents.
Sourcing and procuring equipment, parts, and services to ensure timely and cost effective maintenance of facility equipment and systems.
Complying with applicable safety regulations, space management requirements, and other organisational standards.
Overseeing contracts with third-party services and contractors, and monitoring the performance of these services and contractors.
Developing preventive maintenance schedules to identify and prevent small problems from escalating.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Facility Engineering/Management, or related field.
Proven experience in managing building systems such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
Certifications in health and safety, electrical engineering and other areas of facility maintenance.
Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Facility Engineering/Management, or related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years' experience of facility maintenance.

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of Building Regulatory Authorities and local building codes.
Thorough knowledge of facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and water treatment systems.
Experience in sourcing and procuring equipment, parts, and services.
Experience in integrated pest management solutions.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication, organisation, and team-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree or equivalent in Facility Engineering/Management, or related field.
Certifications in health and safety, electrical engineering and other areas of facility maintenance.

Working Conditions:

Must be willing and able to work extended hours and on-call on occasion.
Must be able to lift and carry equipment and materials up to 60lbs.
May require travel both locally and nationally
