Positive Employment is currently recruiting for an Income Accounting Officer for our client a government organisation in Bournemouth.

The successful post holder will support the effective financial management of housing income by ensuring accurate accounting, reconciliation, and reporting of rental and service charge income. The role focuses on maintaining financial integrity, supporting income recovery processes, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and audit requirements.

This role is a temporary contract initially for 3 months with the possibility to extend. Hybrid working - or could be fully remote.

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Reconcile rental income, service charges, and other housing-related income streams on a regular basis
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between housing management systems and financial systems
  • Ensure all income is accurately recorded, allocated, and reported
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including income forecasts and variance analysis
  • Monitor rent and service charge income performance against targets
  • Provide accurate data and analysis to support decision-making
  • Support the annual rent setting and service charge calculation processes
  • Ensure correct implementation of rent changes and updates in systems
  • Assist with reviewing and validating service charge accounts
  • Maintain integrity of financial and housing income data across systems
  • Support system reconciliations between housing management systems and the general ledger
  • Assist with system improvements, testing, and process enhancements

Personal Requirements:

  • No qualifications but very desirable to have previous housing experience.
  • Experience in finance, accounting, or income management
  • Understanding of financial reconciliation processes
  • Experience working with financial systems and large datasets
  • Knowledge of housing income streams (e.g., rent, service charges)

Working Hours: 36hrs / Monday - Friday

Pay: £17.90 per hour
