Your new companyOur client is a rapidly expanding owner-managed group business based in Penrith.They currently have a vacancy in their medium-sized finance team for a Management Accountant to join them on a permanent basis.Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the Group management and statutory reporting for 2 trading companies.This is a pivotal role with a well regarded company and will suit a technical accountant looking to develop.Your new roleTypical duties will include:

• Monthly preparation of consolidated accounts
• Preparation of year-end financial statements for each group company
• Management and leadership of the audit process
• Company Secretarial duties for all group companies
• Ensuring statutory compliance is processed, submitting returns as necessary
• Liaison with HMRC, external auditors, joint venture partners and other third parties as required regarding statutory compliance matters.
• Lead the delivery of key deadlines across the department with focus on accuracy and timely outputs
• Ensure that outputs and work standards meet the expectations of all stakeholders
• Identifying opportunities to continually improve the information provided to the wider business

What you'll need to succeed

• QBE or qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
• Excellent communication skills with a hands on approach
• Knowledge of Sage is beneficial
• Strong Excel skills
• Team player with the ability to manage own workload and hit tight deadlines
