Who are we looking for?
A temporary (12-months) Onboarding Administrator vacancy to provide professional and effective administrative support to the HR/People Department is now available at UKAEA.
This role will offer the right candidate the opportunity to join a growing organisation and department. The role will give you both the opportunity to collaborate with various internal colleagues and departments and to work closely with UKAEA's new recruits to provide an excellent first impression of the organisation.
This role would ideally suit a candidate with a strong administrative skill set and the ability to prioritise workload and work in a busy environment. Good communication and customer service skills are key elements to succeed in this role. Previous exposure to onboarding/recruiting processes would be advantageous but not essential.

You will receive a bespoke, on-going training programme to ensure you develop your commercial and technical skills to allow you to deliver the workload to a high standard. The ideal candidate will have good IT skills and you will be recognised for your hard work and support with our outstanding benefit package.
What will you be responsible for?
- Carrying out onboarding process with selected candidates including maintaining contact with candidates throughout recruitment, gathering ID, proof of nationality, references, completing security clearance paperwork, medical clearance and producing offers of employment
- Liaison with security team to ensure that all candidates are successfully processed for clearance purposes
- Liaison with hiring managers to ensure that they are aware of their candidates’ progress through onboarding
Essential skills, experience and competence required
Excellent administration skills and good attention to detail
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Good general IT ability (knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook)
Ability to identify and implement administration process improvement
Previous administration is essential, as well as working in a busy environment
Ensuring that all required documents are collected and verified
Handling confidential information in line with the UKAEA security procedure
Desirable skills, experience and competence
HR or recruitment/onboarding
A CIPD qualification
