Job Requirements of this Teaching Assistant job in Lichfield

  • Passion for working directly with pupils and young people aged 7 to 18.
  • Ability to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Experience or willingness to work with pupils with complex Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with pupils, staff, and parents/guardians.
  • Dedication to guiding individual learning journeys and supporting the emotional and physical needs of pupils.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to assist in preparing learning materials, running classroom activities, and providing hands-on support under supervision.
  • Commitment to shaping young minds and fostering a passion for learning.

Qualifications or Certificates:

  • Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Education, Youth Work, Social Work, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications in behaviour management or similar training programmes preferred.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people aged 7 to 18 is desirable.
  • Experience in supporting pupils with SEMH needs would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take on responsibilities for pupil welfare and development.
