Straight Forward Recruitment Ltd are looking for a motivated and dependable Warehouse Operative to join our clients' team at a vertical farming facility. This role involves the efficient handling of all warehouse operations, including packing finished goods, managing stock, yard work, receiving and dispatching goods and preparing delivery documentation. You will play a vital part in ensuring that produce is packed, stored, and shipped accurately and on time in line with customer specifications. 

SHIFT: 06h00 - 14h00 Monday to Friday 
£12.21 per hour for first 2 weeks increasing to £12.27 per hour 
Genuine Temp to Permanent Position for the right individuals

Key Responsibilities:

Packing & Finished Goods Handling

Accurately pack harvested produce according to specifications and customer requirements.
Label and store finished goods in accordance with traceability and food safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the packing area to meet compliance standards.
Stock Control & Retention

Monitor and maintain stock levels of both raw materials and finished goods.
Conduct regular inventory counts and report any discrepancies.
Implement and follow stock rotation practices (FIFO) to minimize waste.
Yard Duties

Ensure safe loading and unloading of goods in the yard area.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free yard and external storage spaces.
Assist with waste management and general upkeep of the warehouse environment.
Receiving Goods

Check incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
Record and store received items in the appropriate locations.
Report damaged or missing items immediately to the relevant team members.
Dispatch & Delivery Preparation

Prepare finished goods for dispatch, ensuring correct labeling and packaging.
Create and process delivery notes and associated paperwork.
Coordinate with logistics providers or internal drivers to schedule deliveries.
Ensure all dispatches are completed accurately and on time.

Requirements:

Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or food production environment preferred.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, chilled environment.
Basic computer literacy for stock and dispatch records.
Forklift or pallet truck experience (advantageous but not essential).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
