The Compliance Manager will perform a significant advisory role for all regulatory aspects across the business, ensuring best practice and adherence to policies and procedures. Additionally, the role holder will support a number of key stakeholders allowing for collaboration cross functionally in order to deliver comprehensive and business oriented solutions whilst being open towards new ideas and change.

This is a ‘hands on’ position working closely with the corporate finance advisory team, central functions and both local and international offices. The successful candidate will be relied upon for their experience in compliance/risk mitigation and the execution of process improvements from analysis through to delivery

Compliance Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously improving company policies
  • Implementing robust audit processes, practices and associated documentation to identify weaknesses
  • Critically evaluating business activities (e.g. investments) in order to assess potential compliance risks
  • Developing deep regulatory, FCA knowledge
  • Creating strong crisis management plans to resolve any compliance violations swiftly
  • Providing regular coaching and training to colleagues on regulatory change and evolving industry practices
  • Addressing employee concerns or questions on legal compliance
  • Keeping abreast of internal standards and business objectives

Candidate Requirements:

  • Evidence of or studying towards relevant qualifications as recognised by the International Compliance Association (ICA)
  • Strong academic record of achievement
  • Hands-on knowledge of core compliance and FCA regulatory process improvement - ‘knowing what good looks like’
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Superior attention to detail in order to identify and mitigate risk both procedurally and behaviourally
  • Emotionally Intelligent and able to negotiate and influence at all levels
  • Positive attitude with a collaborative and engaging approach to working with colleagues
  • Subject matter expertise on end to end compliance and governance process improvement
  • Ability to see the bigger picture and shape solutions

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in risk management or compliance roles
  • Full understanding of FCA regulatory requirements and regulatory culture
  • Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards
  • Ability to recognise the key requirements for a medium sized business and providing pragmatic compliance advice via the accurate interpretation of relevant regulatory requirements
