Senior Commercial Manager

SALARY: £55000.00 - £60000.00 per annum + car, pension, healthcare

Acorn has a fantastic opportunity available for the right candidate to join one of the country's leading building product manufacturing companies as a Senior Commercial Manager. The opportunity gives you the chance to join a highly respected company who are looking to add a proven leader to their team on a National Scale being based in and around the West Midlands.

Purpose of role:

* P&L responsibility of Sales of Packed Products.

* Works closely with Packed Products Product Line Director to develop and implement a sales strategy to achieve volume and revenue growth for new and existing customers.

* Co-ordinate key account plans for customers with multiple products.

* Determine the sales forecasts for S&OP.

* Provide commercial excellence program including both process and sales capability improvement through training.

* Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the Sales Management team to ensure all stated objectives, aims and targets are achieved and develop a high-performing management team with a culture of delivery and continuous improvement through effective management teams to deliver commercial excellence across the product line.

Tasks and responsibilities:

* Determine and deliver the sales targets against the agreed Packed Products strategy.

* Share customer opportunities and market knowledge with other product lines.

* Develop sales team capabilities.

* Agree sales strategy for new and existing Product Line including customer prioritisation and approach to win.

* Determine the process for internal and external partnership including order taking and fulfilment.

* Agree account plans for priority customers.

* Support the Packed Products pricing strategy and product profitability by agreeing decisions in liaison with the Finance Manager.

* Identify resource requirements to achieve the sales strategy.

* Engage and motivate sales management team to excel and achieve high standard of sales performance and management of effective customer relationships.

* Develop capability of sales management team.

* Improve sales skills within teams.

* Support customer retention through.


* Value and growth generation, Margin Generation, Market Share, Pricing, Business Results, Cash Flow.

* Achievement against operational metrics for sales i.e. (Targets, Complaints, diverts and re-charges).

* Employee engagement, low staff turnover, improvement in staff assessment and talent. Effective succession planning. Improved staff performance and engagement.

* Safety standards compliance, Visible felt leadership, site audits.

* Pipeline of New Product Development.

* Technical knowledge of sales teams to meet customer expectations.

* Effective resolution of customer complaints.
