We are seeking an experienced Civils Commercial Manager to take a hands-on leadership role within their team in Gravesend. This is a unique opportunity for a proactive professional who combines strong commercial management skills with estimating and surveying expertise to drive the success of high-profile projects across the region.

Key Responsibilities

* Leading commercial activities on civils and groundworks projects, ensuring profitability and risk management.

* Overseeing and contributing to estimating and tendering processes, supporting the business from the ground up.

* Managing subcontractor and supplier relationships, negotiations, and procurement.

* Conducting cost control, value engineering, and financial reporting to ensure projects stay within budget.

* Participating directly in surveying duties, including measurement and valuation, to maintain hands-on involvement.

* Collaborating closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project delivery.

* Mentoring junior surveyors and estimators, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.

* Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and contractual obligations.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:

* Significant experience as a Commercial Manager within civils or groundworks sectors, with a strong estimating background.

* Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead commercial teams effectively.

* Hands-on experience with estimating, surveying, and project cost control.

* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

* A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

* A proactive, practical approach with a focus on delivering results.
