Role overview

As a Software Engineer for this global software provider of award-winning financial services applications, you will be part of a team responsible for some of their key business solutions that they offer to clients. Their software is used by more than half million customers across the globe.

You'll be working as part of a global team of Engineers, Quality Engineers & Business Analysts on a whole range of projects from updating and improving existing and legacy code, bug fixing, new feature work and eventually some greenfield stuff. If you've also had experience getting stuck in with unit testing and actively contributed to automating processes throughout the software development lifecycle then this is even better!

The company has a modern engineering strategy, utilising the latest cloud tech, mainly AWS focused, and pushing DevOps concepts to ensure the best possible software delivery. You'll be working within cross-functional, agile teams.

What are they looking for?

They are looking for talented Developers who really understand code. You'll have experience building user-friendly applications and solutions with modern C# and .NET, have a strong understanding with SQL, experience with modern front-end Javascript frameworks albeit the role has more of a backend focus so open to different JS frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, etc), knowledge of APIs would be great and if you also know any Python then this would be very desirable.

Other knowledge and attributes include (they're looking for a good understanding of most of the following but not all is essential):

* Web Services and REST

* AWS or other Cloud providers

* Unit Testing and associated frameworks

* Experience of seeing a project through the life cycle of development and into production

* Knowledge and experience of developing within an object-oriented development environment

* Experience of developing service-oriented architectures

* Knowledge and experience of developing within an agile project framework

* Knowledge of source control, release management, testing and task management, working within a team environment (including application lifecycle management)

* Knowledge of Financial Services solutions would be highly beneficial (Mortgage, Life Insurance, Retirement, Wealth Management, Remuneration)
