Driver Hire and dh Recruitment (Torbay) is recruiting HGV drivers with Class 1 C+E, Class 2 Cat C, and 7.5-tonne C1 licences.

We have regular work available across South Devon, offering weekly pay, guaranteed minimum hours, and a mix of local routes. This role suits both experienced drivers and newly qualified drivers looking for steady work with a supportive local team.

Pay and hours

• £16.81 to £21.01 per hour PAYE Advanced
• Weekly pay every Friday
• Minimum of 8 paid hours per shift
• Flexible shifts including days, nights and weekends
• Regular assignments across South Devon with respected local companies

What the work involves

• Your duties will depend on your licence and the client. Typical tasks include:
• Driving Class 1 C+E, Class 2 Cat C or 7.5-tonne C1 vehicles
• Local and regional deliveries across Devon and Cornwall
• General haulage, pallet work, trade deliveries or store deliveries
• Daily vehicle checks
• Completing accurate paperwork, PODs and digital tacho entries
• Supporting with loading and unloading when required
• Following driver hours rules and site procedures
• Most routes start early and have predictable finish times.

What you need

• Class 1 C+E, Class 2 Cat C or 7.5-tonne C1 licence
• Valid Driver CPC
• Digital Tachograph card
• Maximum of 6 penalty points
• Comfortable with early starts and some manual handling
• Your own transport to reach client depots
