Maintenance Engineer

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join our well-established client, based in Tamworth on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity offering a competitive annual salary, excellent benefits, and clear scope for progression.

Hours of Work:

• Monday to Thursday: 06:00–13:30 / 13:30–21:00
• Friday: 06:00–12:30 / 12:30–19:00
• 1 Saturday every 6 weeks on rota
• 1 week of nights per year to cover annual leave

Salary:

• £35,000 – £40,000 per year (depending on experience)

Day-to-Day Duties:

• Provide both electrical and mechanical maintenance support across all plant and equipment
• Communicate effectively with operational teams and management
• Perform planned and preventative maintenance tasks
• Record all maintenance activities and progress updates on the Maintenance Management System
• Respond quickly and efficiently to plant breakdowns, ensuring high standards of repair and identifying root causes
• Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times
• Stay up to date with changes in legislation, best practices, and personal skills development
• Help minimise operational downtime and meet production priorities

Essential Skills

• Relevant Electrical and Mechanical qualifications
• Previous experience in a similar maintenance role
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and organisational abilities
• Flexible and positive attitude with a willingness to adapt

Desirable Skills

• Welding experience
• Knowledge of schematics and diagnostic tools
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems

Training:

• Ongoing training and development will be provided, including support for personal development and keeping up to date with industry standards and regulations.
