About the School:Located in the Gravesend area, our specialist SEN school provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for children and young people with SEMH needs and difficult life experiences. We focus on building trust, emotional resilience, and academic progress through tailored support and a trauma-informed approach.
The Role:We are seeking a full-time SEN Teacher to join our committed team. This is a long-term temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will work during standard school hours, delivering a broad and engaging curriculum adapted to meet the individual needs of our pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that support both academic and emotional development.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and external agencies.
- Implement behaviour support strategies and contribute to a positive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or substantial experience in a similar SEN teaching role.
- Proven experience working with children with SEMH and/or behavioural difficulties.
- A clear Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential).
- Strong classroom management skills and a compassionate, adaptable approach.
