This role is all about building trust, developing strong and positive relationships, and helping children who have experienced trauma find safety, stability, and a sense of belonging.
What you’ll be doing
- Taking a hands-on approach in day-to-day care while also managing casework and care plans for your assigned young person
- Leading shifts and supporting your team to deliver consistent, high-quality care
- Bringing a confident, fun and compassionate approach to help children grow, develop and thrive
- Advocating for each young person’s needs and working with families, schools, and other professionals to get the best possible outcomes
- Supporting children to learn new skills, explore hobbies, and feel part of their community
- Ensuring all care is delivered with respect, dignity and empathy
What we’re looking for
- Experience working with children or young people in a residential or similar setting
- The ability to lead and inspire your team on shift
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to handle casework and write reports
- An understanding of trauma-informed practice and a genuine commitment to putting children first
- A full manual driving licence
- HNC Social Care and SVQ Level 3
