Mechanical Design Engineer

Position: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Castle Donington - Hybrid/Flexible

Contract: Outside IR35

Type: Full-Time

The Role

This is a contract outside IR35 role working on a project involving designing a range of turbomachinery related components.

Key Responsibilities:

Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
Generate engineering drawings.
Perform engineering design calculations eg Perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
Preparation of engineering design reports.
Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities.
Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Required qualifications and experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Experience designing turbomachinery, particularly blades/turbines.
Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5
Proficiency in NX software is essential.
Strong skills in mechanical calculations and GD&T are essential.
Experience designing turbomachinery or related components is essential.
Experience using Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems.
Good communication skills with the ability to work in a small team as a self-starter.
