Key Responsibilities

*

Produce electrical schematics and drawings using CAD software

*

Prepare wiring documentation and liaise with manufacturing teams

*

Support production with continuous improvement initiatives

*

Test and evaluate electrical circuits and systems

*

Create and maintain specifications and Bills of Materials

*

Design and prototype low-voltage distribution and control panels

*

Ensure compliance with electrical and health & safety standards

*

Liaise with suppliers to meet design and quality requirements

*

Estimate project timescales, labour, and material costs

*

Occasional travel for training, supplier visits, testing, and customer trials

*

Develop production test fixtures and resolve electrical quality/safety issues

Requirements

*

HNC, Degree, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)

*

Minimum 3 years' experience in electrical systems design

*

Strong knowledge of electrical/mechanical integration

*

Experience producing wiring diagrams and schematics using CAD

*

Understanding of wiring layouts, harnessing, and safety compliance

*

Strong practical and problem-solving skills

Desirable

*

SEE Electrical 2D/3D experience

*

Knowledge of machinery safety systems and global standards

*

Experience with EN61010, CE marking, and Low Voltage Directive compliance

*

Familiarity with industrial automation (PLCs/PACs)

*

Understanding of functional safety, EMC, and signal integrity

*

Experience in new product introduction and process improvement

*

Time-served electrical apprenticeship
