Nursery Room Leader

We have a great setting close to Hackney that are looking for a Nursery Room Leader to join the team. This nursery has worked hard to create both indoor and outdoor environments that provide children with the opportunities to safely explore and investigate. From mud kitchens to vegetable gardens, learning hubs and computer suites, they inspire young minds to learn how things work and evolve through play.

Each day at nursery is different and every child is encouraged and nurtured to develop at their own pace to reach their full potential. They have a caring team of experienced practitioners creating enabling environments and activities to ensure every child is given the opportunity to be creative and explore. There is a large outdoor space, complete with age-appropriate equipment and a Forest School area for the children to discover.

The nursery is located close to train station with good links to Stratford, as well as being well served by bus routes and the tube.

Responsibilities:

• The Nursery Room Leader will promote positive relationships with parents and carers and encourage their involvement in the nursery, and ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, parent, visitor and colleagues at all times
• Assist in embedding an effective key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and identify training or development needs for staff
• Support and cater for the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development
• Assist in regular team meetings to ensure staff understand and are aligned to nursery priorities, and regularly revisit training and policies.
• Support a culture of self-evaluation and reflective practice throughout the nursery
• Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the nursery

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant and recognised Childcare qualification
• Previous experience of working in an Early Years setting in a supervisory capacity
• Knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements
• Sound knowledge of Ofsted expectations
