Hours: hours per week - Permanent Role Summary We are recruiting for Senior Residential Support Workers to join our children’s and young adults’ homes, working in our fantastic four bedroom homes at our single site in these permanent positions.
• The main responsibilities of these roles will be to support the day to day care and support needs of the children and young people in our care, including personal care needs, supporting them in their daily routines, communication, independence and life skills as well as leisure ; Some challenging behaviours may present, so candidates should be comfortable working in this type of environment.
• The positions will advocate for our children and young people as well as having input into their care ; They will also work in partnership with local authorities, parents, carers and other organisations involved in meeting each young person’s needs.
• In addition the Senior Residential Support Workers will administer medication, support and co-ordinate key workers, and will also lead ; These are excellent opportunities for experienced care professionals to make a real difference!
• The roles have a rotating combination shift pattern, and flexibility over 7 days is required Requirements
• QCF Level 3 Diploma Children’s & Young People’s Workforce / Level 3 Health and Social Care/Residential Childcare qualification (or working towards it)
• GCSE English and Maths (grade A-C) or equivalent level 2 literacy and numeracy qualifications
• Previous experience in a care setting, supporting people with learning difficulties and complex health needs
• Knowledge of communication strategies for non verbal learners; experience working with a variety of communication methods including PECs, objects of reference and basic signed communication
• Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to write and maintain reports and children / young people notes and communicate effectively with staff/managers
• Previous experience leading shifts and rota management advantageous
