Position: Nights Transport Shift Manager
Location: Wakefield
Shift: Saturday - Tuesday / Sunday Tuesday (19:00 - 07:00)
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

About the Role:

As a Nights Transport Shift Manager, you will be at the heart of operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of nightly transport activities. You will oversee a dedicated team, manage complex logistics, and ensure timely delivery of goods to valued clients. This is a pivotal role that requires strong leadership, impeccable organisational skills, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the night shift transport operations team to achieve operational excellence.
Ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Monitor and optimise transport routes and schedules.
Maintain high standards of health and safety compliance.
Liaise with clients, drivers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and exceptional service.
Manage and resolve any transport issues or emergencies that arise during the night.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements:

Proven experience in a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain environment (Ideally as a Nights Transport Shift Manager)
International CPC - Desirable
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of transport regulations and compliance.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational demands
