Psychology Graduate - Mental Health Youth Support
An incredible role for a Mental Health Youth Support assistant has recently become available in a highly regarded school in Maidenhead.
Are you looking to make a lasting impact on students who struggle with their mental health needs and learning? Are you a psychology graduate who is looking to gain amazing hand on practical experience supporting vulnerable youth?
This fantastic school are seeking a Mental Health Youth Support assistant to work one to one and in small groups with their students, facilitating their interventions and ensuring they follow their therapeutic plans. The students at this school also have barriers to their learning such as specific learning needs, ADHD and behavioural needs. They need loads of support to emotionally regulate and cope with their mental health struggles.
The school are seeking a Mental Health Youth Support assistant to bring a positive attitude and ensure that their students are able to access their education in the same way as their mainstream peers.
Ideal for Psychology Graduates and Aspiring Counsellors.
The school are looking for someone who can help with the below:
- Create a safe, fun and engaging learning environment
- Encourage students to participate, focus on and engage in their learning
- Follow their intervention plans while also making use of any restorative practices and therapeutic techniques that have been adopted to ensure a positive experience at school
- Promote healthy coping strategies and support conflict resolution
- Support in tracking and relaying feedback to the class teacher and other multi-disciplinary professionals that support the students
The ideal mental health youth support assistant will be someone who is:
- Passionate
- Has a positive attitude
- Is keen to make a difference and support vulnerable students
- Understands the importance of safeguarding when working with vulnerable children
- Has a genuine passion for supporting learning and mental health needs
- Hold an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one
