Freight Coordinator

• Annual Salary: Up to £30,000
• Location: Bolney RH17

I’m currently supporting a client in their search for a dedicated Freight Coordinator to manage both airfreight and sea freight operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in freight forwarding, strong knowledge of international transport procedures, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.

Day-to-day duties of the role:

• Arrange and coordinate airfreight and sea freight shipments, both imports and exports.
• Prepare and process essential shipping documents such as Air Waybills, Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists and customs documents.
• Monitor and track shipments from origin to destination using logistics systems like Metafour.
• Communicate effectively with airlines, shipping lines, customs brokers and clients to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and customs requirements.
• Provide clients with timely updates on shipments and resolve any delivery issues that arise.
• Calculate freight costs and prepare quotations for clients.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive shipment records in logistics systems.
• Handle cargo booking and space confirmation with transport providers.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure proper cargo handling and readiness for shipment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in freight forwarding, with a focus on air and sea freight.
• In-depth knowledge of international shipping documentation and Incoterms.
• Familiarity with customs procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Strong communication and coordination skills to effectively manage logistics and client interactions.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office and freight management systems like Metafour.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
