Job Title: TIG Welder (Aluminium)

Reporting to: Senior Team Leader
Location: Derby
Salary: £18.01 per hour
Working Hours: 39 hours per week

* Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm

* Friday: 7:30am - 12:30pm

Purpose of the Role for the TIG welder role:

An experienced TIG Welder is required to join the welding department in Derby. This role involves the manufacture of precision aluminium components for the aerospace industry, working to extremely tight tolerances and high-quality standards.

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must have strong experience welding aluminium, including thin gauge materials. The role involves working with material thicknesses as low as 0.9mm, requiring a high level of skill and precision.

Key Responsibilities for the TIG welder vacancy:

* TIG welding of aluminium aircraft components to aerospace standards

* Working with thin gauge materials (down to 0.9mm thickness)

* Preparing and adjusting sheet metal parts to fit welding jigs

* Using measuring equipment to ensure components meet engineering drawings

* Maintaining strict adherence to health & safety and standard operating procedures

* Supporting energy efficiency initiatives and continuous improvement activities

* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery

Essential Skills & Experience for the TIG welder vacancy:

* Strong, proven experience in aluminium TIG welding (essential)

* Experience working with thin gauge materials (ideally down to 0.9mm)

* High level of precision and attention to detail

* Ability to consistently produce high-quality, conforming parts

Desirable Skills

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

* Fabrication experience using hand tools

* Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques

* Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001)
