Role Summary
My client is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of life sciences construction and fit-out projects within Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to budget, and to the highest quality standards expected within GMP, laboratory, and cleanroom environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all site activities, ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
- Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, and suppliers to achieve programme milestones.
- Implement and maintain site-specific RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) and permit systems.
- Maintain strong working relationships with the client, consultants, and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication at all stages.
- Oversee quality control processes, ensuring installation meets technical specifications and regulatory standards for life sciences facilities.
- Drive progress meetings, daily site briefings, and toolbox talks to maintain programme momentum and safety focus.
- Monitor materials procurement and deliveries to maintain continuity of work.
- Identify and manage site-based risks and escalate issues promptly to the Project Manager.
- Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, progress reports, and inspection reports.
- Ensure full compliance with company environmental and sustainability policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within life sciences, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or high-specification technical sectors.
- SMSTS certification and valid CSCS card (black or gold).
- Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations, health & safety legislation, and GMP compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Experience delivering projects within live operational sites or complex stakeholder environments is desirable.
