Main Duties & Responsibilities

* Working with various on-site teams to develop projects from concept to completion; including capital investment, project works and plant asset maintenance.

* Developing detailed 3D solid models and drawings/bill of materials for components and assemblies. Converting existing current 2D designs and layouts into 3D CAD technical models.

* Liaising with relevant departments to ensure drawings are correctly followed.

* Supporting project, maintenance, production & HSE teams to meet time and budget targets.

* Ensuring project compliance with relevant planning, building and health and safety legislation.

* Design solutions for ad hoc site issues when required.

* Ensuring inhouse drawing revision control and correct logging during projects and following completion.

* Act as a technical lead within any team when the company is carrying out evaluation of historic installations and projects.

* Integrating and or converting externally produced drawings for logging to relevant project.

* Liaising with unit reliability engineers, suppliers and subcontractors.

* Preparing site reports and other administration tasks.

* Involvement in coaching and guidance for mechanical apprentices.

* To inform, apply and utilise the continuous improvement initiatives to implement projects.

Documentation Requirements

* Develops and writes up technical reports as requested.

* Use the Engineering Work Request (EWR) logging systems to manage, report and progress workload. Knowledge of Autodesk PLM system would be beneficial.

* Awareness of document control procedures, ideally Autodesk Vault.

Qualifications

Essential to the role

* Degree, HND or equivalent in Mechanical based qualification.

* CAD software or equivalent qualification, Autodesk products used on site. (Knowledge equivalent packages applicable).

Desirable

* Commercial awareness including experience of working to budgets and strict deadlines.

* Experience in a relevant industry role.

* An understanding of CE marking requirements.

* An understanding of the LOLER regulations of lifting equipment.

* An understanding & knowledge of relevant BS EN Engineering Standards.

Skills & Qualities

* In-depth CAD drawing software knowledge including 2D & 3D formats. (Autodesk products used on site)

* Computer proficiency including but not limited on MS Office software.

* Ability to read and understand technical writing and interpret engineering drawings.

* A self—motivated personality with a hands-on, 'can do' approach to work.

* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
