The Social Housing Solicitor/Director's role

The Social Housing Solicitor/Director will manage a varied caseload and provide leadership across all aspects of housing law. You will:

Supervise solicitors, trainees, and caseworkers, ensuring high standards of service and compliance

Represent clients in court proceedings, including advocacy where appropriate

Handle urgent housing cases, judicial reviews, and strategic litigation

Deliver in-house training and support ongoing staff development

Contribute to marketing and business development initiatives to support growth

Liaise with the Legal Aid Agency and ensure accurate funding applications



The Social Housing Solicitor/Director

To be considered for the Social Housing Solicitor/Director position, candidates must have:

A minimum of 3 years' PQE in housing law and litigation

Recent experience as a Duty Advisor under the Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme

Eligibility under the 2013 SQM Supervisor Standard or willingness to attain it

A valid Practising Certificate and strong advocacy skills

Proven leadership and mentoring experience within a legal team

Excellent communication, IT, and client care skills
