Deputy Head of Service (Mental Health)

Contract: Initially until March 2026

Pay: £450 per day (Inside IR35)

Hours: 37 per week, Monday - Friday

Location: Hackney / Hybrid working (2 days onsite)

We're working with a Local Authority who are looking for an experienced Deputy Head of Service (Mental Health) to join their team. This is a good opportunity to play a key role in shaping and improving mental health services, ensuring residents receive safe, personalised, and high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with the Head of Service, Social Work Professional Lead, and senior leaders to deliver on departmental and corporate objectives.
• Lead and support services to deliver high-performing, innovative, and outcome-focused interventions for residents.
• Manage resources effectively, including budget oversight, cost efficiencies, and workforce management.
• Drive forward service improvements and change management initiatives, identifying innovative approaches to deliver better outcomes.
• Ensure compliance, safety, and quality standards are consistently met across services.

Requirements

• A degree (or higher) in Social Work, Social Care, Allied Health Professions, or Public Health, with appropriate professional registration.
• Significant and proven leadership and managerial experience within health and social care.
• Strong track record in change management and driving service improvements.
• Experience in delivering and managing projects in a complex health and social care environment.
