🚀 Your next challenge:

As Head of Digital Solutions Engineering, you will lead the engineering, delivery, and run of mission‑critical IT & Payment products serving Belgium and Luxembourg. Working closely with Global Product Engineering, you will drive the modernisation of our platforms, simplify and retire legacy technologies, and deliver scalable, high‑quality digital solutions for clients, consumers, and merchants.

This role sits at the heart of our digital transformation. You will champion agile delivery (SAFe, Scrum), work with our One Platform Architecture strategy at front of mind, and ensure strong service management, reliability, and performance across all products. You will lead multidisciplinary teams across product engineering, development, testing, data services, and operations-creating an environment that values ownership, continuous improvement, and innovation.

You will balance strategic vision with hands‑on leadership: improving time‑to‑market, strengthening service quality, optimising cost efficiency, and embedding data‑driven decision‑making through clear KPIs and metrics. Security, compliance, and operational excellence are core to everything you deliver.This is a high‑impact leadership role for someone passionate about technology modernization, payments, and building strong teams in an international, fast‑moving environment.

Functional and Integration

  • Define and implement functional and integration strategies across systems, applications, and platforms.
  • Ensure functional, technical, and integration consistency and traceability across all products and solutions.
  • Foster close collaboration between IT, business stakeholders, architects, development teams, and QA, both locally and globally.
  • Ensure adoption of global architecture principles, including the One Platform Architecture and shared global assets.

Development

  • Own product technologies and delivery practices across both global and local assets, covering development and run services.
  • Ensure alignment of local and global product solutions with the Belgium and Luxembourg product strategy.
  • Monitor product performance and delivery of initiatives across global and local assets.
  • Deliver high levels of availability, performance, and customer-facing service quality, meeting agreed SLAs.
  • Optimise cost efficiency and value delivery across product technologies and services.
  • Champion agile delivery methods to accelerate time-to-market and ensure right-first-time releases.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and operational efficiency.

Data Services

  • Maintain operational stability of local reporting capabilities, including compliance and benefit-related reporting.
  • Lead the transition of local reporting and data assets to global platforms in line with the Global Data Strategy.
  • Strengthen collaboration between data services and digital product teams.
  • Drive innovation to simplify, automate, and improve data services for internal users, clients, merchants, and partners.

Software and Product Services

  • Ensure alignment of product engineering teams with ITSM standards and core IT delivery processes.
  • Improve value, reliability, and performance for both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Ensure high-quality, right-first-time delivery of releases, enhancements, and fixes.
  • Establish strong engineering and service management processes, supported by performance monitoring.
  • Increase automation across service delivery and release processes to reduce manual effort and operational risk.

  • 10+ years software development leadership and organisation experience
  • 10+ years ITSM leadership experience (teams and services)
    · 10+ years cloud and digital solution management and execution
  • 7+ years experience in payment services and solutions
  • 7+ years transformation planning expertise and delivery
  • 7+ years in data centric environments with expertise and strength in producing and utilisation of business metrics, KPI's and OKR's - driving continual improvement
  • 7+ years professional team leadership and team and talent development (i.e. Development, Agile, Infrastructure, Networking)
  • 7+ years budget management and commercial expertise (Opex/Capex)
  • Migration programme expertise, moving legacy products, technologies and services to digital replacement within a live operational environment
  • Cyber security awareness in terms of product / service development and run
  • Risk mitigation in programmes and business as usual service provision
  • Process improvement and efficiency background with supporting KPI's, metrics and tracking


Competencies

  • Degree / Master qualification in related disciplines (Tech / Engineering)
  • Experienced and comfortable working in an international matrix organisation
  • Digital first approaches and focus on continual improvement through technology
  • Metric driven with a strong focus on continual improvement and data evidence - a metric and data centric mind-set
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, approachable and people centric
  • Strong organisation and planning skills
