JR295 - CNC Shift LeadLocation: BathSalary: £57,000 Per AnnumOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a CNC Shift Lead on behalf of one of our clients.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.The successful candidate will lead shift operations within a CNC machine shop environment, ensuring production targets, safety standards, quality requirements, and continuous improvement objectives are achieved while maintaining a strong presence on the shop floor.Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead shift operations to achieve production targets and daily performance goals.
• Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Manage Team Leaders and oversee labour allocation, performance, and training needs.
• Maintain a visible leadership presence and promote a positive team culture.
• Oversee daily machine shop activities, troubleshooting issues to maintain workflow.
• Ensure accurate job bookings, reporting, and operational records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve OEE.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve quality and reduce scrap.
• Coordinate maintenance and TPM activities to ensure machine reliability.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and support audit compliance.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Relevant experience in a CNC machine shop environment.
• Demonstrable ability to set and run the majority of machine tools within defined processes.
• Ability to lead through organising, coaching, mentoring, developing, and motivating team members.
• Open-minded, change-oriented, target-driven, methodical, supportive, and forward-thinking approach.
• Positive, proactive, and approachable leadership style.
• Strong communication skills at all levels of the business.
• Computer literate.
