Commercial Manager - Major MEP & Civils Project - South Wales

We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a high-profile infrastructure project in Margam, South Wales. This is a major MEP and civils scheme involving the delivery of a new substation - a critical project in the region's energy infrastructure development.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a leading role in the successful commercial delivery of a technically complex and high-value scheme. Candidates must have solid experience working under NEC contracts, and prior involvement in infrastructure projects of a similar scale would be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management: Ensure accurate and timely submission of interim applications for payment and certifications.

*

Subcontractor Management: Administer and manage subcontractor accounts, including final settlements.

*

Claims Management: Prepare, submit, and manage project claims in accordance with contract requirements.

*

Team Leadership: Lead and develop a commercial team - identifying training needs, conducting staff appraisals, and fostering team retention.

*

Negotiation: Effectively negotiate with clients, subcontractors, and consultants to achieve commercial goals.

*

Risk Management: Provide expert advice on contractual implications and proactively manage commercial risks.

*

Reporting: Compile and present monthly contract review reports, highlight key risks and opportunities, and contribute to weekly business plan updates.

*

Contract Chain Management: Maintain a clear and structured contractual chain between the head contract and the supply chain.

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Commercial Manager on major infrastructure projects.

*

Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract.

*

Background in MEP and/or civils projects is highly desirable.

*

Excellent negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
