Job Title: Cover Supervisor – Secondary School (Zero Hours Contract)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Cambourne on behalf of Outreach Staffing Solutions. This role is offered on a zero hours contract, providing flexible working opportunities to suit your availability.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with the work set by the teacher. This is a great opportunity for individuals considering a career in teaching, graduates, or those with experience working with young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 during teacher absence.
• Ensure students remain engaged and on task with the lesson work provided.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
• Provide clear instructions and maintain a focused learning environment.
• Report any issues or concerns to the relevant school staff.
• Provide feedback on lesson progress where required.

Requirements

• Experience working with young people or in a school environment is desirable.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Confidence supervising groups of students aged 11–16.
• Ability to follow school policies and maintain professional standards.
• A flexible and reliable approach to work.
• A degree or relevant qualification
