The Role

Senior Buyer sought to take a strategic role in the national and international Supply Chain operations for our client. You'll drive cost efficiency, lead procurement strategy, and ensure compliance across all import/export activities—contributing directly to the success of their major projects in the power generation Industry.

The Senior Buyer will Lead and optimise supply chain operations across both UK and international markets

Oversee import/export compliance, ensuring full adherence to HMRC and global trade regulations

Develop procurement systems that improve performance metrics and enable structured reporting

Drive supplier base rationalisation and implement group buying initiatives

Manage supplier contracts in line with company strategy, identifying cost-saving opportunities

Streamline material/tooling flow to meet project deadlines and budget constraints

Set stock targets, approve purchases, and monitor timely deliveries

Provide trade advice on Incoterms and pricing for tenders, bids, and quotes

Support the Procurement of capital equipment and specialised project materials

As a Senior Buyer you will Assist Project Managers with contract reviews, terms negotiation, and risk mitigation

Maintain accurate records and documentation within the Quote Register

Your skills and experiences:

* Experienced Buyer

* Degree or certification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or a related field

* Strong background in procurement and supply chain operations

* Industry experience in engineering

* Proven success managing supplier relationships and delivering procurement savings

* Skilled in negotiating high-value contracts and sourcing capital equipment

* Strong interpersonal skills—able to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders

* Excellent planning and time management abilities

* Comfortable working independently
