We are currently recruiting for a family run business who have been operating for over 40 years.
They work with some of the biggest brands in the UK and pride themselves on their reliability, integrity and high quality of workmanship.
They are looking for an experienced Industrial Door Engineer to join their growing Operations team. The role involves the servicing, repair and maintenance of a wide range of industrial and automatic door systems, including roller shutters, sectional doors, high-speed doors, gates, and automatic pedestrian doors. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship, diagnosing faults, and ensuring customer satisfaction across a variety of commercial, government and industrial sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on industrial and automatic door systems.
- Undertake reactive repairs and fault diagnosis, ensuring minimum downtime for the customer.
- Respond to emergency call-outs (on-call rota).
- Diagnosing and quantifying repairs or upgrades.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health & safety regulations and industry standards.
- Provide professional and courteous service, building strong relationships with customers.
- Accurately complete job sheets, service reports, and any required documentation on the PDA.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good condition.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience working with industrial and automatic door systems (roller shutters, sectional doors, high-speed doors, sliding/folding doors, gates, fire shutters, fire curtains, fire doors and automatic doors).
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent preferred).
- Valid CSCS card, IPAF, and/or PASMA certification beneficial.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards (BS EN 16005, BS 7036).
- ADSA, DHF and FDIS certification beneficial.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
