The Business Development Consultant is a strategic sales role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You will engage with qualified leads and identify new business opportunities as the company expands into new verticals. A strong grasp of the product is essential, as you'll be leading tailored, impactful product demonstrations focused on customer needs. Building long-term relationships with high-value clients and partners in your region will be a key part of your success in this role.
DUTIES:
- Identify and acquire new retail clients in a for (B2B sales) aligned to the overall business objective and commercial strategy.
- Sell company software packages and deliver against revenue and sales targets by effectively leading prospects through a defined sales process that includes: Lead one-on-one screen-sharing presentations/demos as required.
- Work closely with the marketing team on account based marketing strategies and any marketing collateral needs.
- Track all steps as defined by the sales process in Hubspot.
- Weekly sales reporting.
- Monthly sales pipeline meetings.
- Attend weekly sales meetings, quarterly target review meetings and regional strategy sessions.
- Work closely with the customer excellence team to ensure customer retention.
- Identify new business development opportunities, engage with identified opportunities in aid of meeting new business development targets.
- Add real value to clients, by:
- Offering system set-up training and guidance.
- Work with management on pricing negotiations.
- Stay up to date with all the latest industry news and events in relevant sectors and help marketing to create content that matters to them.
- Growing and maintaining relationships with key business partners including but not limited to:
- POS integration partners
- Industry leaders
- Develop a deep understanding of the product, so that you can meaningfully engage with prospective clients and identify subscriptions packages which suit their needs.
- Keep up with product development. In the fast past, the ever- developing world of software staying ahead through innovation is their cornerstone. They expect you to know the product inside out and keep up to date with all the latest features and developments.
- Build a close working relationship with both the marketing and customer excellence teams.
- Proactively seek ways to improve product and industry knowledge and better understand the target market for their product.
- Assume responsibility for own productivity, remain up to date on company projects and ensure company and department objectives are met.
- Manage and maintain your own individual sales pipeline and contribute towards the sales pipeline overall.
- Travel as and when needed to meet with clients
REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous.
- At least 2 years relevant working experience.
- Strong work ethic and ability to adapt to the fast pace of the business.
- Skill in organizing time and establishing priorities.
- Previous experience working with sales management software advantageous.
