You will be provided with company car; laptop; phone - all the usual tools for your field-based role.

My client is seeking to appoint a full time, permanent FIELD SALES EXECUTIVE. Whilst it would be desirable to appoint an existing Field Sales Representative, this role may suit an internal salesperson who is looking to make the move into a Field Sales role, provided you have been working in the right industry sector.

You will be inheriting a well-worked and profitable sales area that is generating a lot of business and where there is a considerable amount of future potential. You will be working alongside the present Sales Executive for a number of months who is planning for retirement. You will be given a full introduction to the existing clients by way of a comprehensive hand-over process.

The sales territory, whilst still to be completely defined, is likely to be Bradford, Leeds, Knaresborough, York and surrounding areas. This is a field-based position - as such you will be out on the road, visiting clients and prospects.

It is anticipated that you will shadow the existing salesperson for three days per week; you will have at least one day generating and developing your own new business and will be in the office for no more than one day per week.

You will be a successful salesperson and ideally you will have experience of selling PPE and/or catering equipment and consumables. You will be calling on Pubs, Clubs, Restaurants, Local Authorities, NHS etc.

You may already be calling on these kinds of business but selling something different and you wish to make a move into selling PPE and Catering Supplies.

You will have the determination to succeed and will possess the following skills:

a) Territory planning

b) Planning the individual sales call

c) Opening a sales discussion

d) The art of asking open, positive and quality questions

e) The art of listening

f) The ability to identify "buyer benefits"

g) Overcoming objectives

h) Closing sales discussions positively with definite action decisions

i) Presenting a quotation effectively

j) Selling to larger accounts

This is a varied and interesting role. You will be nurturing and developing a great area that has been well looked after and that produces a lot of business. There is a lot of in-house support with this well established, Yorkshire based company.
