Job Purpose: We are in search of committed Social Workers who possess a fervent dedication to enhancing the welfare of vulnerable children and their families. As a Social Worker/Senior Social Worker within the Kinship/Post Permanence service, you will hold a pivotal role in evaluating potential familial connections, foster carers, and Special Guardians, while also offering ongoing guidance and oversight to approved carers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the lead professional in statutory cases necessitating a qualified social worker.
  • Undertake assessments and approvals of family link and foster carers.
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulations and court directives.
  • Deliver support, supervision, and training to foster carers and Special Guardians.
  • Coordinate post-permanence assistance for Special Guardians.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
  • Maintain meticulous records and participate in continuous professional development.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a Diploma in Social Work or an equivalent qualification recognised by Social Work England.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • A robust understanding of pertinent legislation and exemplary practices in safeguarding children.
  • Previous experience in statutory environments dealing with children and families.
  • Exceptional communication, organisational, and prioritisation abilities.
