Reed Education are working with a leading Primary School in their search for a Teaching Assistant to support from after the October half term break.
This school is a two form, co-educational unit, supporting students from a range of backgrounds and abilities.
In your role as a Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to both support the class teacher in the running of the lessons, as well as offer individualised guidance and support to those students who require it. You may be working with pupils with some mild special educational needs as well as those who simply require the work to be explained again, or to be kept on track whilst completing the set tasks.
To be successful in this post you will need to have an understanding of the Primary National Curriculum and how this can be worked to support a range of skills and abilities in the classroom. You will need to have had experience in a Primary school, either in the UK or overseas, and a real passion and love for getting the best out of the students that you are working with. A proactive and positive attitude is a must, and having a flexible and adaptable approach will support you in the classroom as this is an environment that is consistently changing in needs throughout the day. Having experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential as support can be offered in that area.
Reed requires all of its staff to have an up to date DBS certificate on the Update Service. If you do not have one then we can support you in a new application. Yearly Safeguarding training and other courses will be provided to support you in your CPD once in role.
Reed Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to undergo a DBS check
