English Teacher – Permanent Position (January Start)

About the Role:As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and challenging lessons across KS3 and KS4, fostering a love of literature and language. You’ll join a supportive department committed to excellence and innovation in teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in English.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning.
  • Contribute to departmental development and share best practices.
  • (Optional) Lead literacy initiatives across the school as Head of Literacy, driving strategies to improve reading and writing standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Leadership experience or ambition (for the TLR role).
