Site Engineer - Plymouth

Salary - £40k + package

The role

We are looking for site based Engineers reporting to the Project Manager helping to deliver a 2 year project at HMNB Devonport in Plymouth.

HMNB Devonport is the largest naval base in Western Europe and has been supporting the Royal Navy since 1691. The vast site covers more than 650 acres and has 15 dry docks, four miles of waterfront, 25 tidal berths and five basins. Over the next 10 years, Babcock is delivering a series of major infrastructure projects to redevelop the aging base infrastructure.

The purpose of the programme is to deliver the extensive upgrades required to create state of-the-art facilities capable of meeting the evolving requirements of the UK's Royal Navy.

Key accountabilities

HSEQ performance at site level to support site team.

Package management of high value subcontract packages for insitu and pre cast concrete.

Quality performance at site level regarding standards of both workmanship and documentation.

Coordination of site control and the performance of site engineering teams.

Support management of supply chain during construction: progress, co-ordination and feedback

Responsible for the production, review and monitoring of construction methodology documentation including RAMS and ITP's to ensuring compliance with the company's quality management system and the employers requirements.

Responsible for production of as-built documentation from site.

Responsible for the adherence of project team to information management procedures and requirement.

Skills & experience

Marine Engineering

Previous experience of high quality insitu and precast concrete structures desirable

Setting out

Performing the role of a temporary works supervisor or exposure to implementing temporary works solutions.

Management of safe systems of works and quality management.

Implementation of Permit to Excavate, Permit to Load and Strike and Services coordination.

Excellent IT knowledge including use of AUTOCAD and Microsoft suite.

Degree/HNC, or equivalent, in civil engineering desirable.

2-5year previous civil structures experience

Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion.

Full Driving Licence.
