We are working with a leading construction and fire-safety specialist who deliver nationwide Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) works, fire-stopping, and fire-door installation programmes. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Buyer to join their team in Oxford.

The Role

As Buyer, you will play a key role in ensuring all materials, fire-safety products are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with project requirements. You'll work closely with site teams, contract managers, and the commercial department to support a busy programme of FRA and fire-door projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

* Procuring materials, consumables, plant hire and specialist fire-safety products

* Raising purchase orders and managing supplier delivery schedules

* Negotiating prices and maintaining strong supplier relationships

* Ensuring all products meet FRA, fire-door, and compliance standards

* Managing procurement documentation and keeping accurate records

* Supporting contract managers with sourcing new suppliers where required

* Monitoring stock levels and assisting with warehouse coordination

* Maintaining cost control and contributing to commercial reporting

* Working with the warehouse manager

Requirements

* Experience as a Buyer within construction, maintenance, or fire-safety sectors

* Knowledge of FRA, fire-stopping, or fire-door materials (desirable, not essential)

* Strong negotiation and communication skills

* Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines

* Good IT and procurement system experience

* Organised, proactive and commercially aware
