Job Description We are seeking an experienced and talented Chef Supervisor to join our culinary team in Hull, United Kingdom. As a Chef Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing kitchen operations, maintaining high-quality standards, and leading a team of skilled culinary professionals.
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement new menu items and seasonal specials
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations throughout the kitchen
- Manage inventory, place orders, and control costs to maintain budget targets
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Oversee food quality, presentation, and portion control for all dishes
- Assist in creating and maintaining standard recipes and procedures
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction
- Participate in menu planning and pricing strategies
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including equipment maintenance
Qualifications - Proven experience as a Chef Supervisor or in a similar role within a professional kitchen
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and current food trends
- Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene practices, and relevant UK regulations
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in menu planning, cost control, and kitchen management software
- Creativity and innovation in developing new recipes and menu items
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous
