SALARY: £55000/annum

Salary: circa £55,000 per annum, the successful candidate will be eligible for essential user car allowance.

Location: Rugby, peripatetic with a requirement to travel within prescribed geographical locations.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, capable and competent Head of Risk and Compliance. This role requires an individual who understands current legislation and developments in the fields of health and safety and environmental matters and is also flexible to meet the demands and needs of an exciting and expanding organisation.

The role is working for an organisation that specialises in Children’s Homes. The Head of Risk and Compliance will be responsible and accountable for the overall strategic management and delivery for health and safety and environmental managing within our organisation. This will be achieved through regular auditing and monitoring with clear evidence indicators and timelines. The organisation has high expectations of total compliance in these areas.

Roles and Responsibilities:

* To act as a central point for advice, guidance, support and direction to our Management team and staff around the delivery of health and safety.

* To advise on the interpretation of all required regulations in line with best practice and legislation.

* To oversee the risk and compliance registers within the organisation to monitor and review identified risks or trends.

* To ensure contract management processes/ policies and procedures are reviewed and updated appropriately, offering professional advice and guidance as required.

* As a Senior representative of the organisation you will be required to meet with regulators, key clients and stakeholders and strategic partners.

* To investigate incidents/ accidents where necessary providing recommendations to mitigate risks and to avoid reoccurrence.

* To complete required documentation including regular reports and documentation as required by Senior management team and the board.

* To lead on the strategic direction of health and safety and environmental management on behalf of the company and in conjunction with the wider vision and direction of the wider group needs.

* To be associated and involved in core operational meetings to understand the context of the organisations requirements and targets and support their delivery.

* To manage and oversee the existing fleet of company vehicles against lease agreements ensuring the safety of the vehicles and their effective environmental management.

* To support the organic growth of the business through the development of new homes and facilities in conjunction with Project Services and Facilities Manager.

Essential requirements:

* Comprehensive understanding of health and safety and environmental management within the workplace

* Excellent written communication, ICT skills as part of a Management information system.

* Experience of project and health and safety management to new operations.

* Full UK Driving Licence/ ability to travel to our geographical locations.
