Lead Mechanical Engineer - Nuclear Sector Location: United Kingdom | Hybrid | Permanent
A well-established international engineering and services organisation is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to spearhead high-impact projects within the nuclear sector. This role offers the opportunity to influence the future of energy and infrastructure through technical leadership and innovation.
Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of the mechanical engineering scope across complex nuclear-focused projects, from feasibility to commissioning
Provide strategic technical leadership to internal teams and external partners
Ensure rigorous adherence to nuclear industry standards, including safety, regulatory compliance, and quality control
Guide the preparation and review of technical documentation, specifications, and design deliverables
Collaborate with clients, design teams, and subcontractors to drive project delivery and engineering excellence
Promote continuous improvement and best practice within design and execution phases.Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
Chartered Engineer status or on the pathway towards chartership
Extensive experience in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated sectors (e.g. defence, petrochemical, energy)
Demonstrable background in leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects
Strong knowledge of UK nuclear legislation, safety case development, and engineering design codes
