Job Title: Housing Options Officer
Location: Hybrid - 2 days in the office, 3 days remote
Contract: Full-time

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Housing Options Officer to provide high-quality advice and assistance to customers on housing and homelessness issues. The role involves assessing homelessness applications under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended), making Section 184 decisions, and working in accordance with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and all relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess and investigate homelessness applications, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Issue clear, lawful, and timely s184 decision letters.

Provide tailored housing advice to prevent homelessness where possible.

Work closely with partner agencies to secure suitable housing solutions.

Maintain accurate case records and ensure data compliance.

Essential Requirements:

Strong knowledge of the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and related legislation.

Experience making s184 decisions and handling complex casework.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
